Brazilian Soccer Schools] [Futebol de Salao  World-renowned BSS uses Futebol de Salao (FDS).  The training and game is characterized as a 5-a-side version of soccer with origins in Brazil.  Futebol de Salao is played with a smaller (size 2), and slightly heavier (465gm) ball that has very little bounce to it. 

The PIASLC has also confirmed an partnership with the US-based IronKids programme. This  affiliation will focus on bringing four junior Triathlon events per year as well as training camps for youth aged between 6 and 15.

The PIASLC  has chosen former professional tennis player David Roberts as Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day operations at the sprawling Phuket, Thailand sports centre.  David offers experience in both operations and pre-openings.  He has run elite private sports clubs while with Centara Hotels and Resorts Group.  When the PIASLC completes construction in November and starts into full operations he will be focused on the co-ordination between club services, sports academies and membership programmes.

As part of a total commitment to sports excellence the Phuket International Academy Mind Centre has begun to provide training in the cultivation of cognitive and emotional balance.   The PIAMC will  provide  a combination of modern psychology and neuroscience alongside traditional Asian contemplative practices.  Working in close relation with the Phuket International Academy Day School and the Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club, the programmes offered through PIAMC will contribute to participant’s better mental balance
and wellbeing.  Some retreats incorporates two methods for cultivating meditative quiescence called shamatha.     It teaches the practice of “mindfulness of breathing”, which is helpful method for soothing the body and calming the mind.
